Fabulous Alvin A. White Signed, Master Engraved, Raised Silver and Gold Inlaid Colt Second Generation Single Action Army Revolver with Factory Letter and R. L. Wilson Note Manufactured c. 1958-1959, the included factory letter lists this revolver's configuration with a 7 1/2 inch barrel in .45 caliber, blue finish, and type of grips not listed when sent with another revolver of the same type in a shipment to Kerr's at 9584 Wilshire Boulevard in Beverly Hills, California, on January 30, 1959. The left side of the recoil shield features a prominent raised gold inlaid bust of a buffalo head, along with a raised silver inlaid depiction of a bull skull on top of the rear grip strap, with the work signed with an "A.A.WHITE/ENG." insert in silver on the right of the front grip strap under the wood line. It has fixed blade front and top-strap notch rear sights, the Colt address on top of the barrel with the model and caliber designations on the left side, the two-line patent dates followed with a Rampant Colt on the left of the frame, a triangle "VP" factory proof and "P" on the left of the trigger guard, and "P" on the right of the trigger guard. Matching full serial numbers on the frame and grip straps, a matching partial serial number on the front of the cylinder, and matching "919" assembly numbers on the frame and loading gate. Wilson, in which he mentions in handwriting the revolver by serial number along with two other revolvers in this auction, one owned by entertainer Sammy Davis Jr. and another that belonged to legendary Hollywood fast draw instructor and Holster maker Arvo Ojala in the following two lots.
