This lot features a large collection of postcards and related paper ephemera spanning the early 20th century through the 1980s. The assortment is housed in a single cardboard box and includes holiday greeting cards, topographical views, comic illustrations, and travel booklets. Notable items include a die-cut New Year greetings card titled Peace and Plenty, an embossed card featuring a cupid figure with pansies titled Heartiest Congratulations, and various embossed Easter cards. A significant portion of the collection consists of Japanese travel materials, including illustrated booklets titled Town of Castles, Literature, and Onsen and Shin-Hotaka Ropeway, along with postcards of Matsumoto Castle and other Japanese landscapes. Domestic US subjects include views of the Tacoma Narrows Bridge, beach scenes, and mountain landscapes. Maritime interest is represented by a Grace Line postcard featuring the S.S. Santa Monica, S.S. Santa Clara, and S.S. Santa Sofia. Comic and humorous cards include early 20th-century titles such as The Lazy Man and Waiting for Something to Turn Up. Advertising ephemera includes a March 1986 calendar postcard for E. A. Horns Drug Store in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Visible marks include a card from the Raphael Tuck and Sons Independence Day Series No. 109. Both unused and postally used cards with stamps and period correspondence are present throughout the lot. Dimensions: Box measures approximately 11 x 9 x 6 inches.

Large items, such as furniture, large signs, neon, etc, will exclusively be FOR PICK-UP ONLY or for private courier delivery as selected by the winning bidder or recommended local agent from Atlee Raber Auctions.


The buyer is free to contact any shipping company they wish, as shipment is not limited to the agents provided by Atlee Raber Auctions.

In light of the current pandemic, ALL PICK-UPS will be scheduled with our office in advance to allow for all safety practices and precautions to occur.
