This lot features three early to mid-20th century American advertising tobacco tins. The first is an upright pocket tin for Big Ben Smoking Tobacco, manufactured by the Brown & Williamson Tobacco Corp. in Louisville, Kentucky. The tin is lithographed in orange with a central graphic of a dark horse standing before a circular sun, and is marked for Factory No. 21, District of Kentucky. The second is a rectangular pocket tin for Piper Heidsieck Chewing Tobacco, produced in Factory No. 27, District of Kentucky. It features a teal background with a graphic of a champagne bottle and the text Champagne Flavor. The reverse side includes a detailed description of the flavoring process. The third is a rectangular pocket tin for Vaporia Mixture, produced by the Falk Tobacco Co. in Richmond, Virginia. This mustard-yellow tin displays a central heraldic crest containing the words Trade Mark and Non Dissimilar. All three items are constructed of tinplate with integrated hinged lids.
