This hand-carved wooden mask depicts a stylized, bearded male figure used in folk art dance masks, such as those used in Mexican folk traditions from the Guerrero region. The mask features a deeply carved face with prominent, repeating spiral curls forming the hair and thick beard, a large mustache, and eyes with rosette-carved pupils. The mouth and eyes are pierced through, and the overall carving exhibits a rustic, folk art quality with visible tool marks. The reverse is hollowed out and fitted with a metal wire.
