Large, unframed oil on canvas by contemporary artist Cao Yong (Chinese, 1962-2023) depicting a garden pond scene with a foot bridge, lily pads and flowers. (Biographical side note: Yong spent some time in Tibet painting and was considered "politically questionable." In 1989, he was arrested by Chinese authorities, and the Beijing Police burned seven of his paintings. He escaped to Japan with his fiancee, writer and artist Aya Goda.) Signed lower left.
