TENNESSEE LATE FEDERAL TIGER MAPLE SUGAR CHEST, rare oversized form having hinged lid concealing divided interior, chest of dovetailed construction, attached to a base with applied reeded quarter-round walnut molding over two short drawers, all raised on turned legs issuing from the stiles. Poplar secondary wood. Retaining early, possibly original, knobs, and an old surface with mellow color. Mid 19th century. 31 1/2" HOA, 40" WOA, 17" DOA.

    Very good overall condition with minor scattered wear, slightly heavier to lid.
