A pair of solid sterling silver spoons produced by the Whiting Manufacturing Company in the Louis XV pattern, which was originally patented in 1891. These spoons feature circular bowls, typically used for bouillon or cream soup, and handles designed in a Rococo Revival style. The handles are ornamented with intricate scrollwork, volutes, and foliate borders that follow the scalloped edge to the terminal. Each handle is personalized with a hand-engraved script monogram on the front. The reverse of the handles is stamped with the Whiting Manufacturing Company hallmarks including a lion passant and a stylized W, followed by the text STERLING and PAT. 1891. Total weight 82g.
