A pair of sterling silver forks manufactured by the Whiting Manufacturing Company in the Louis XV pattern, which was first introduced in 1891. These forks feature a highly decorative Rococo style with scrolling foliage, volutes, and a prominent shell motif at the handle terminals. The pieces are struck with the Whiting hallmark consisting of a lion passant facing right, a shield containing a stylized W, and a caduceus. The forks are also stamped STERLING and bear the retailer mark HENRY ROHM CO for Henry Rohm & Company, a jeweler and silver retailer active in Newark, New Jersey. Each handle terminal is engraved with a Gothic script monogram of the letter K. Total weight 72g.
