An elegant cranberry glass centerpiece compote, the richly colored bowl of generous flared form raised on a baluster pedestal and embellished with finely cast gilt bronze mounts of neoclassical inspiration. The bowl is fitted with opposing scrolling handles incorporating stylized ram's heads, rosettes, and textured ribbon motifs, while the pedestal is supported by an ornate gilt bronze tripod base composed of acanthus leaves terminating in spherical feet. The harmonious combination of vibrant cranberry glass and warm gilt metal creates a striking decorative presentation reminiscent of French Empire and Louis XVI revival designs. The gilt bronze mounts are removable from the bowl, allowing the glass vessel to be displayed independently if desired. The richly saturated glass exhibits excellent clarity and an attractive luminous quality, making the piece equally suited as a centerpiece, jardinère, or decorative display bowl. A handsome decorative object combining classical ornament with vibrant colored art glass, ideal for traditional, neoclassical, or eclectic interiors.

  • Condition: Overall very good decorative condition. The cranberry glass appears free of significant chips or cracks upon examination. Gilt bronze mounts display light wear, scattered oxidation, and minor rubbing consistent with age and handling. The removable handles and mounts fit securely, with expected wear at attachment points. A well-preserved example.
