[1871]. Small 8vo. Green cloth with embossed and gilt cover and spine. Yellow endsheets with advertisements. This is a "Popular Dictionary of Gardening". VG, with age appropriate wear.   Gothein, Marie Luise.  A History Of Garden Art. Edited by Walter P. Wright...With over 600 illustrations. In Two Volumes. London and Toronto J. M. Dent & Sons Limited  New York: E. P. Dutton & Co. Ltd. First english Edition (From the German) 1928. Large Quarto. Blue cloth binding with gilt cover decoration and elaborate gilt spine decoations. Green cloth with elaborate decorations to the cover and spine (with artists initials on front cover). Numerous colored plates with tissue guards. Single page of "Books on Flowers and Gardens" at end. Very Good condition. Internally clean. Some plates with partial separation from binding, but all still attached. Sixteen Illustrations In Colour...London. Adam and Charles Black. 1911. First Edition. 8vo. Purple cloth binding with a lovely illustration and gilt title on the front cover. Illustrations are tipped onto heavy brown wove paper. 2pp ads for garden books at end. ALS glued to front paste down from Laura Thornely to her neice Ruth, dated 1919. In VG+ condition with light soiling and the spine is sunned to a light brown.

SHIPPING/ PICKUP

Arrangement and costs of shipping are the responsibility of the buyer. New England Auctions does not ship or arrange shipping. All shipping is outsourced. All buyers and shippers must come prepared with appropriate packing materials and help for heavy items. New England Auctions will not wrap or box any item going out of our facility. Our staff will not be available to help move heavy items. If payment is made by check, items will be held up to seven business days before an item is released for shipping.

Items can be picked up in person or by a shipper at 14 Business Park Drive - Unit 5, Branford, CT - BY CONFIRMED APPOINTMENT ONLY. Please contact the gallery 24 hours in advance to make an appointment. Pickup can be scheduled for Monday through Friday between 10am and 3pm beginning the Monday after the date of the auction. Please note that all first-time buyers that wish to pick items up in person must pay with cash.
