A probable 1933–1935 Ford passenger car wire-spoke steel wheel, believed to have been manufactured by the renowned Kelsey-Hayes Wheel Company, one of Ford's principal suppliers during the early V8 era. Constructed with a heavy-gauge drop-center steel rim, integrated drum brake hub, and traditional laced wire spokes, this wheel represents the innovative engineering that defined American automobiles during the early 1930s. The wheel features a five-lug mounting pattern, riveted steel construction, and hub profile consistent with Ford passenger cars produced between approximately 1933 and 1935, including the celebrated Early Ford V8 Model 40. These Kelsey-Hayes wire wheels were prized for their combination of strength, durability, and lighter weight compared to earlier wooden artillery wheels, marking an important advancement in automotive design. Retaining its untouched surface with decades of natural oxidation and rich iron patina, the wheel possesses exceptional visual appeal for collectors of automobilia, industrial artifacts, and architectural décor. Its sculptural arrangement of wire spokes and authentic period construction make it equally suitable as a restoration candidate, garage display, wall-mounted installation, or statement piece in rustic and industrial interiors. While the overall construction strongly suggests Ford passenger car application, exact year and model identification would require verification of any manufacturer or part-number stampings located on the inside rim, hub flange, or near the spoke attachments. Common identifying marks may include "KH" for Kelsey-Hayes, Ford script, or Ford part numbers beginning with prefixes such as 40-, 48-, or 18-. An authentic surviving example of early American automotive history, offered exactly as discovered and ready for display or further research.

  • Circa: Circa 1933–1935
  • Condition: Good antique condition. Displays heavy, even surface oxidation and an attractive untouched patina throughout consistent with decades of age and storage. No tire is present. Structurally complete as photographed with expected age-related wear, corrosion, and surface pitting. Offered as a decorative display piece, restoration candidate, or reference example. Please review all photographs carefully as they form part of the condition report.
