EMANUEL SUTER, ROCKINGHAM CO., SHENANDOAH VALLEY OF VIRGINIA DECORATED STONEWARE CROCK, salt-glazed, "2" gallon capacity mark, wide-mouth form with two incised rings below the flat-top rim, and arched, extruded handles. Brushed cobalt feather decoration radiating from each handle terminal. Emanuel Suter (1833-1902), New Erection Pottery (1866-1890), west of Harrisonburg, VA. 1866-1890. 9 3/4" H, 9 1/4" D rim.

  • Condition:

    Having a few minor chips to rim, a moderate loss to one handle, and a horizontal crack extending almost full round above base.
