North America, United States, New York, New York, ca. 1941 CE; Various countries from Abyssinia to France alphabetically, ca. 19th to mid-20th century CE. A substantial mid-century philatelic collection housed in the 1941 edition of "The International Junior Postage Stamp Album," published by Scott Publications, Inc. of New York, the standard-bearer of American stamp cataloguing for over a century. The album's printed pages organize issues by country and date, with the United States section running from 1870 through 1940 and including Bureau issues, the watermarked USPS series of 1895, the Trans-Mississippi Exposition issue of 1898, and the Pan-American Exposition issue of 1901, among others. The international section spans Abyssinia through France, with notable representation from Bolivia, Austria, and numerous European nations, including a strong run of Austrian issues from 1917 through the Deutschosterreich overprints of 1918 to 1919, documenting the postal chaos of imperial dissolution in miniature. The hand-applied label on the cover notes approximately 720 stamps from multiple countries and formats, including first day covers, giving some sense of the collection's accumulated scope.
