This collection of aviation ephemera features a variety of hand-drawn plans, printed scale drawings, and technical blueprints primarily focused on aircraft from the early to mid-20th century. A primary component of the group is a large-scale hand-drawn technical plan for a 1916 British Hanley-Paige, executed in graphite and ink on paper, inscribed "Drawn by R Fusselman '75" with a noted scale of 1/4 inch to 1 foot. The lot also includes a technical blueprint on pink-toned paper for a Curtis Falcon - Army O-1, issued by The General Fireproofing Co. of Youngstown, Ohio. Further hand-drawn items include grid-overlaid sketches for the Curtis F9C Sparrowhawk and F11C-2 Goshawk, some marked as being "Scaled from magazine." The collection is supplemented by a range of printed matter, including technical illustrations from "American Modeler" (dated October 1962), "Model Airplane News," and "Air Progress" featuring aircraft such as the Sopwith Camel and Caudron G.3. Also included is a 1947 "Wylam Masterplan" for the Sopwith Dolphin and various color plates of World War I aircraft. Mediums present include graphite, pen and ink, and offset lithography on varied paper stocks including wove, newsprint, and blueprint paper.
