A 19th century salt-glazed stoneware butter churn manufactured by John Bauer And Bro. of Louisville, Kentucky. The vessel features a tall cylindrical form with two applied lug handles and a slightly tapered body. The exterior is finished with a mottled brown salt glaze, while the interior features a smooth yellowish-brown glaze. The shoulder of the churn bears an arched maker stamp reading John Bauer & Bro. / 224 / PRESTON ST. / LOUISVILLE, KY. A large impressed numeral 5 is located near the rim to indicate capacity. Capacity: 5 gallons.

SHIPPING. Shipping may take 2 to 4 weeks. Bidders with an out of state address will automatically be set to ship unless pick-up arrangements are made during the pick-up days. We ship through a local 3rd party company, Fragile Pack, 502-423-0000.
