Important goldeneye. Maker’s paint stencil on underside. Also identified in pencil. “S” branded near inlaid lead weight that is stamped “W.J.S.”. Measures 14.25” long.

  • Provenance: Provenance: Shane Newell collection. Jim and Diane Cook collection.
  • Literature: Literature: “The Essential Guide to Stevens Decoys” by Shane Newell, log 101, exact decoy pictured.
  • Condition: Original paint with very minor flaking; some filler loss and minor separation at a knot in one side; a later coat of varnish added that has darkened slightly; head swivels as it should.
