This lot consists of two cream-colored fine earthenware items, commonly referred to as creamware or Queensware, manufactured by Wedgwood in England. The first item is a serving plate molded in the form of a large scallop shell with radiating relief ribs and a nautilus-style hinge detail. The second item is a small, circular footed bowl featuring molded vertical ribbing to the exterior. Both pieces are finished with a monochromatic cream-colored glaze over the molded relief decoration. The base of the items bears a circular printed mark reading of ETRURIA and BARLASTON WEDGWOOD with MADE IN ENGLAND in the center, a mark used by the company after moving operations to Barlaston in 1940. Each item also carries a circular grey paper label that reads RUBIN COLLECTION around a central circle, indicating former provenance.
