A modern decorative earthenware vase produced in the style of ancient Greek black-figure pottery. The vessel features an ovoid body with a wide mouth, a short flared neck, and a narrow stepped foot. The central frieze is hand-painted on a yellow-ochre ground, depicting the mythological scene of Achilles tending to the wounded Patroclus. This composition is a reproduction of the famous 5th-century BC Attic kylix by the Sosias Painter. Achilles is shown on the right wearing a red-crested helmet and armor, applying a bandage to the arm of the seated Patroclus. The reverse of the vase is decorated with a large, stylized black palmette and scroll motif. A Greek key meander border encircles the lower portion of the body. The neck, rim, and foot are finished in a glossy black glaze. The interior of the vase shows prominent throwing rings from the manufacturing process. No maker marks or factory stamps are visible. A small yellow lot sticker marked 102 is present on the shoulder.
