The ivory field with two octagonal medallions centered around an arrangement of hooked rams horn ornaments, below a pointed arch, hooked rhombus ivory spandrels, within a dark blue border enclosing continuous 'in and out' serrated conical palmettes linked by diagonal hooked vines, polychrome diagonal banded guard stripes .

This fine rug is from a small recognisable group of Perepedil prayer rugs, defined by the design and composition as seen here, presented on an ivory ground with a consistent border and guard stripe design shared by the group. For an in depth article on the evolution of Perepedil rug design, see ' The Perepedil Enigma', Kristine Klose, HALI, issue 55, pp. 110-117. Feb. 1991. A dated example similar design is held in the Museum of Applied Arts, Budapest, inventory, 62-1229t. An example from the same group can be seen in; Grogan and Company, Boston, 15-16 January 2026, lot 3; and for other notable similar examples, see: Levi, Alberto, et al., Stars of The Caucasus, London, 2018, pl. 10:20.
