A tailored US Army M1944 Field Jacket, commonly referred to as an Ike Jacket, manufactured by C. Willens Co. Uniforms of San Francisco. The olive drab wool jacket belonged to an officer of the Infantry branch, indicated by the gold-toned crossed rifle insignia on the lapels and the silver oak leaf rank insignia of a Major whip-stitched to the shoulder epaulettes. The left shoulder features a 17th Airborne Division Golden Talons patch with a black and gold Airborne tab. The right sleeve displays a Meritorious Unit Commendation patch consisting of a gold laurel wreath with the numeral 4. The lower left sleeve bears four gold horizontal overseas service bars, denoting 24 months of combat zone service. The award grouping includes a Combat Infantryman Badge (CIB) and a Parachutist Badge (Jump Wings) mounted on a yellow felt oval. The ribbon bars include the Silver Star with a bronze oak leaf cluster, the Purple Heart, the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with one bronze service star, the American Campaign Medal with two bronze service stars, the World War II Victory Medal, and the Army Good Conduct Medal. The right breast features a Presidential Unit Citation in a gold-toned frame, and the left pocket displays an Expert Marksmanship Badge with a Rifle clasp. The interior lining is stenciled with the name and partial service number LEANZA-A-2675. The jacket is finished with gold-toned officer braid at the cuffs and standard US Army buttons.
