An elegant antique German porcelain cabinet cream jug or miniature ewer, finely hand-painted with lush pink roses and soft green foliage against a luminous white ground. The graceful baluster-form body is complemented by a pale celadon-green flared neck with a delicately scalloped rim, enhanced throughout with finely executed gilt accents. Particularly appealing is the sculptural bamboo-form handle, richly highlighted in matte and burnished gilt, lending the piece an unmistakable Art Nouveau influence. A delicate raised gilt beaded border encircles the shoulder, while the floral decoration displays the soft, painterly quality associated with quality German porcelain production during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. The underside bears a "Made in Germany" export mark, indicating production for the export market after the implementation of country-of-origin marking requirements. Small cabinet-size porcelain pieces such as this were highly sought after as decorative display objects, often forming part of refined Victorian and Edwardian parlor collections. An attractive example of antique German decorative porcelain, ideal for collectors of hand-painted European ceramics, Art Nouveau decorative arts, miniature pitchers, or fine cabinet porcelain.

  • Condition: Very good antique condition. No visible chips, cracks, or repairs observed from the provided photographs. Minor expected wear to the gilt decoration and light wear to the unglazed foot rim consistent with age and careful use. Examination under UV light and in-hand inspection is recommended for a complete condition assessment.
