18x24 A collection of newspaper volumes and loose sheets dating from 1931 to 1960. The lot includes two large folio hardcover volumes: one bound in grey and tan cloth with a black spine label gilt-stamped "CINCINNATI POST - SEPTEMBER 1944," and another bound in grey cloth with a stamped spine reading "DAILY ARGUS APRIL 1960." Also present are numerous loose newspaper sections and sheets, primarily from The Antigo Daily Journal (Antigo, Wisconsin) and The Cleveland Press. Visible dates include June 9 and October 10, 1931, for The Cleveland Press, and several dates in May and June 1940 for The Antigo Daily Journal. The publications feature major historical headlines regarding World War II, including "'British Helpless To Nazi Stroke,' Chamberlain Tells Disorderly Commons" (May 7, 1940) and "GERMAN TROOPS REACH MARNE RIVER" (June 11, 1940). Many pages contain period advertisements for automobiles (Studebaker Champion), fashion, and local services, alongside society news. Extensive comic sections are featured, including titles such as "Buck Rogers," "Wash Tubbs," "Alley Oop," "Boots and Her Buddies," "Freckles and His Friends," and "Dr. Fu Manchu" by Sax Rohmer. The newspapers are printed on standard newsprint, and the bound volumes feature cloth-covered boards. Some loose sheets have been placed in clear plastic sleeves. Measurements: Folio, approximately 17 x 23 inches per volume.

The buyer is free to contact any shipping company they wish, as shipment is not limited to the agents provided by Atlee Raber Auctions.
