An attractive pair of signed late twentieth-century studio art glass paperweights, each exhibiting exceptional craftsmanship and luminous iridescent finishes. Although differing in form and decoration, the two pieces complement one another beautifully and exemplify the artistic experimentation that characterized the American studio glass movement of the 1980s. The first is a hand-decorated iridescent spherical paperweight featuring stylized floral blossoms and flowing botanical motifs executed over a shimmering gold-pearl ground. The underside bears an engraved signature and date, "Cordman," along with "1981" and additional initials. The second is a sculptural swirl-form paperweight executed in brilliant cobalt, violet, and emerald iridescence. Its deeply ribbed, spiraling design creates dramatic movement and continuously shifting reflections. The polished base is signed and dated "1985." Studio art glass experienced remarkable popularity during the late twentieth century as independent artists embraced innovative techniques, vivid metallic iridescence, and sculptural forms inspired by both nature and contemporary design. These hand-finished examples are equally suited for display in a paperweight collection, modern decorative interior, or studio glass assemblage. An appealing pair offering vibrant color, distinctive forms, and signed artistic provenance.

  • Condition: Overall very good vintage condition. Both paperweights present well with light surface wear consistent with careful display and handling. No visible cracks, chips, or repairs observed. The spherical example retains crisp engraved signatures to the underside, while the swirl-form example bears a signed and dated polished base.
