VIRGINIA DOCUMENTS WITH ENSLAVED PERSON CONTENT, LOT OF TWO, manuscript on paper, comprising (1) a power-of-attorney agreement for James Wilson of Fluvanna Co. outlining the renting of his land, hiring out of his enslaved workers, and management of his estate, dated October 1, 1828; and (2) a January 1st, 1858 receipt for "the sum of fifty dollars and forty-four cents for my share of the hire of the negroes belonging to the estate of Jonathan Heaton dec'd," signed by E. J. Hamilton. Dated 1828 and 1858. 12" x 7 1/4" and 4 1/2" x 7".

  • Condition:

    Good to very good condition with typical fold creases, (2) laid on a piece of foam core with mounting stains to the center.
