This lot comprises an assortment of agricultural publications, primarily consisting of ten issues of The American Thresherman (later titled American Thresherman and Farm Equipment). Published by The Clarke Publishing Co. of Madison, Wisconsin, this periodical is subtitled The Power Farmer�s Magazine since 1898. The specific issues included are May 1926 (28th Anniversary issue), May 1927 (beginning the 30th year), November 1927, September 1928, November 1928, February 1930, May 1930, June 1930, August 1931, and November 1931. The covers feature a mix of black-and-white photography and color illustrations depicting agricultural machinery, rural life, and thematic subjects such as battleships on the 1926 anniversary cover. Also included is the August 1928 issue of Successful Farming, featuring cover artwork by Julian D. Mansfield and a contemporary mailing label for Jennie Fox of Lexington, Ohio. Completing the collection is an orange-covered technical manual for an Allis-Chalmers Roto-Baler, identified as Form TPL-212A. This manual was issued by the Allis-Chalmers Mfg. Co. Tractor Division of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and contains operating instructions and illustrations for repair parts. Several issues bear contemporary handwritten names, including German and Herman, in the top margins. These periodicals are softcover with stapled bindings and vary in size, with The American Thresherman measuring approximately 10 by 13 inches.
