Includes a late 18th/early 19th century satin and mixed wood George III English tea caddy with brass hardware, ball feet and ribbon and garland escutcheon, parquetry inlay, includes key and three canisters, 5 1/4 in. H, 7 3/4 in. L, 4 1/2 in. D; and a 19th century English walnut and mixed wood tea caddy with banded parquetry inlay, brass hardware, ribbon and garland escutcheon, paw feet and floral top handle, includes key and three canisters, 5 in. H, 7 1/2 in. L, 4 1/2 in. D

  • Provenance: From the Estate of Robert A. Erlandson, longtime Baltimore Sun journalist and former London bureau chief (1980–1984). This collection of tea caddies was assembled over decades, with many examples acquired while he lived in England, and pieces from the collection have been featured in publications on tea caddies and antique boxes
  • Condition: Appropriate age wear; English walnut tea caddy with wear includes bent paw feet, losses, cracks, one screw missing in hinge hardware, inlay damage to left side, key does not work
