A distinguished set of four Spode blue transferware dinner plates produced in England in the celebrated "Texian Campaign" pattern, commissioned for the Friends of the Governor's Mansion. Each plate measures approximately 10 1/2 inches in diameter and features a richly detailed historical transfer-printed design depicting scenes associated with the Texas Revolution, surrounded by an elaborate border incorporating military trophies, floral garlands, and allegorical figures. The reverse bears the printed Spode mark with the inscription "Texian Campaign," "Made in England," and "For Friends of the Governor's Mansion," identifying the plates as a special commemorative issue created for the preservation and support of the historic Texas Governor's Mansion. The pattern draws inspiration from traditional English historical transferwares while celebrating Texas heritage, combining Spode's renowned craftsmanship with commemorative significance. Founded in Stoke-on-Trent by Josiah Spode in the eighteenth century, Spode is internationally recognized as one of England's premier porcelain and earthenware manufacturers, celebrated for pioneering transfer-printing techniques and producing some of the world's most collectible tablewares. These plates appeal equally to collectors of Spode, Texas history, commemorative ceramics, and blue-and-white transferware.

  • Condition: Very good overall condition. All four plates present well with vibrant blue transfer decoration and glossy surfaces. No obvious chips, cracks, or repairs observed in the provided photographs. Minor utensil marks and light surface wear consistent with careful cabinet display and occasional use. Please examine photographs closely as they form part of the condition report.
