  • Provenance: American jewelry designer Elizabeth Locke, known for her colorful and bold work, entered the jewelry world after her studies in Italy and travels in Thailand. Inspired by ancient motifs and the gold work of Thai jewelers, Locke founded her eponymous jewelry firm in 1988, crafting 19 karat gold hand-hammered pieces inspired by Etruscan, Greek, and Roman art in her signature neoclassical design. Her work is particularly known for its incorporation of 17th century Venetian glass intaglios, ancient coins, and 19th century micro-mosaics, loved by collectors around the world.
