An elegant set of six cobalt blue cut-to-clear crystal champagne coupes, distinguished by their vivid sapphire-blue bowls beautifully decorated with finely wheel-etched floral motifs in the Art Deco taste. Each coupe features alternating stylized blossoms and radiating floral medallions, expertly cut through the rich cobalt overlay to reveal the clear crystal beneath, creating a striking contrast of color and light. The bowls are supported by graceful clear crystal stems with paneled and ring-turned decoration, terminating on circular foots that provide a refined balance and elegant profile. The brilliant cobalt coloration, crisp engraving, and classic coupe form make this set equally suited for serving champagne, cocktails, or desserts while serving as an impressive display of fine decorative glass. Blue overlay crystal enjoyed renewed popularity during the mid-twentieth century, with renowned European glasshouses in Bohemia, Czechoslovakia, Germany, and elsewhere producing finely engraved tableware inspired by earlier luxury crystal traditions.
