World War II U.S. Standard Products M1 Semi-Automatic Carbine Manufactured in early 1944 from the only production block (serial number range 1,982,520 to 2,352,519) by Standard Products from April 1943 to May 1944. Underwood supplied "1-44" dated barrel, unmarked type I barrel band, "N" marked front sight, struck markings on the L-flip peep rear sight, "S" and "61" marked type III operating rod, "17/S" blued flat-top bolt, and a "S" and "17-A" marked milled trigger housing, with a personal identifier type number electro stenciled onto the bottom of the trigger guard, unmarked push button safety, "S W" type III magazine catch, "SW" sear, and "SW" type III hammer. Fitted with a S-HB marked two-rivet walnut handguard and a "high-wood" walnut stock with "S-HB" marked in the sling channel, an "ordnance wheel" stamp on the right of the butt, and a Standard Products marked recoil plate along with a "SL" blued magazine, web sling, and metal oiler. Includes a completed Carbine Club data sheet. Note: This item features a high-capacity magazine which has a capacity above 10 rounds and is considered an assault weapon in some states.   • Condition: Fine, retaining 75% of the original parkerized and blue finishes with some minor edge wear, light cycling wear, some strike marks on either side of the rear sight base, some patches of corrosion on the buttplate, some light freckling, and some light handling marks. The stock is very good as restored with some scattered minor compression and handling marks along with mostly clear markings. Mechanically excellent. Overall a solid representative example of a World War II production U.S. Standard Products M1 Carbine!
