Factory Engraved W. W. Greener Double Barrel Shotgun Exhibited at the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition Completed in 1892 according to page 199 of Graham Greener's "The Greener Story", this shotgun was destined to be displayed at the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition in Chicago, Illinois. The gun was built with Damascus steel barrels featuring a single bead sight on the matted solid game rib which shows the Greener markings, "CHICAGO EXHN 1893" and period Birmingham proof marks on the flats, choke constriction of .025/.023 inches, and chambers measured 2 3/4 inches with extractor. The barrels are fitted to the casehardened Facile Princeps boxlock action showing scroll engraving around "W.W. GREENER" on either side and featuring a Greener crossbolt, double triggers, and a Greener safety. The gun is fitted with a nicely figured and multi-point flat-top checkered splinter forend with engraved iron and release as well as a semi-pistol grip stock with blank stock oval and an added Pachmayr recoil pad. Stock measurements: 1 3/4 inch drop at comb; 2 15/16 inch drop at heel; 14 3/16 inch length of pull; slight cast-off; weight 7 lbs. 8 oz.

  • Condition: Very good overall, with visible Damascus patterns on the barrels, some oxidation, attractive patina on the action, some wear, tiny hairline split at the upper tang, and well-defined checkering on the forend and refurbished stock. Mechanically functions.
