Sheet music for a performance by the Boston Brigade Band during the Marquis de Lafayette's visit to Boston during his triumphal return and tour of America in 1824-25. Lafayette first visited Boston from August 25-September 2, 1824, where he was greeted by over 100,000 people. During his stay he visited Harvard University, the sites of the Battles of Bunker Hill, Lexington, and Concord, and met with former president John Quincy Adams in Quincy, Massachusetts. He returned nearly a year later, in June 1825, after touring the rest of the United States, and laid the cornerstone of the Bunker Hill Monument during the 50th anniversary of the battle, which was attended by 200,000 people.
