Excellent World War II U.S. Defense Supply Corp. Contract and Maritime Commission Shipped Smith & Wesson "Victory Model" .38 Military & Police Model of 1905 Fourth Change Double Action Revolver with Factory Letter Manufactured in 1942, the included factory letter lists this revolver's configuration with a 4 inch barrel in .38 Special caliber, parkerized finish, a butt swivel, and smooth walnut stocks when produced for the United States Defense Supply Corporation contract and shipped to the U.S. Maritime Commission in Hoboken, New Jersey, on May 25, 1942. The revolver features fixed rounded blade front and top strap notch rear sights, blue finish still used on the ejector rod and case colors present on the trigger and hammer along with the lanyard loop, the two-line Smith & Wesson address and patent dates marked on top of the barrel, the caliber designation marked on the right side of the barrel, and the Smith & Wesson trade mark on the right side of the frame. Matching full serial numbers on the barrel, crane, rear face of the cylinder, ejector, and butt, along with matching "45319" assembly numbers on the frame and crane.
