This lot features an assortment of five distinct items including handcrafted jewelry, a decorative object, and a botanical sample. The collection includes two necklaces, one scrimshaw-style pendant, a metal bear diorama, and a bag of dried roots. The first necklace is a multi-strand piece composed of numerous rows of small, cream-colored, disc-shaped bone beads. These strands are secured by two large, tapered wooden spacers with a dark, textured grain pattern. It features a metal hook-and-eye clasp and retains a handwritten tag identifying it as a carved bone bead necklace. The second necklace features various carved bone beads, including round spacers, stylized animal forms, and skull-shaped beads. It terminates in a large, oval, pierced-work pendant depicting an elephant in relief within a decorative border. The material shows a creamy patina and surface texture consistent with bovine or buffalo bone. The third jewelry item is a scrimshaw-style pendant fashioned from a section of an animal tooth or tusk. The polished obverse face features a detailed black-ink engraving of a three-masted sailing vessel at sea with two marine mammals, likely dolphins or small whales, in the foreground. A stylized monogram transcribed as SA is visible in the lower right corner. The reverse maintains the natural, unpolished texture and central root cavity of the organic material. It is suspended on a simple black cord. The decorative object is a diorama featuring three cast pewter bear figurines. The figures have a textured, fur-like finish and are mounted on a base of natural weathered wood or bark. Two small bears are positioned within a hollowed section of the wood, while a larger bear stands on the upper surface. The botanical item consists of a 2-ounce collection of dried roots contained in a clear plastic freezer bag. The bag is labeled in blue ink as 2oz wild N.C. Ginseng. Potential bidders are advised that the sale and transport of wild-harvested ginseng and items made from certain animal materials may be subject to federal and state regulations. Weight: 2 ounces (ginseng only).
