DEUTSCHER SCHUTZEN VERBAND DAGGER BY EICKHORN
A Deutscher Schutzen Verband ('German Shooting Association') dagger with scabbard made by Ernst Pack & Sohne. The dagger measures 19.5 in. long overall in scabbard. It features a 13 in. long steel blade acid-etched on both sides with forestry scenes interspersed with arabesques and bullseye targets, and is fitted with a green felt buffer pad. The ricasso reverse is maker marked: 'E.P. & S. Solingen' with their iconic logo depicting Siegried swing a hammer. Obverse of crossguard is fitted with a clamshell bearing a wreathed German Shooting Association insignia, constructed of silvered alloy with enamels, the crossguard displays hooked quillons terminating in acorns. The grip is constructed of celluloid wrapped wood, with the obverse bearing the brass crossed rifle insignia. At top it is fitted with a ribbed plated alloy pommel with a slightly damaged slotted nut. Dagger is accompanied by period correct scabbard constructed of a metal shaft wrapped with replacement leather, with original plated throat and scabbard tip fittings. Some oxidation and some lifting of the plating, mostly to the lower fitting, else very good.

Shipping, handling and insurance charges will be added to all invoices. Shipments are sent via FEDEX, USPS Express, USPS International Priority, and DHL (for most overseas shipments) or FedEx Ground at the auctioneer's option. Shipments will only be sent to the registered bidder address, re-routing shipments is not permitted. All shipments require a direct signature, no exceptions. Shipping to certain countries is extremely expensive and will be invoiced according to dimensional weight as required! By law the full value is required by customs for international shipments. Please inquire before bidding! International shipments are invoiced by DIMENSIONAL weight, not the item weight. Please contact us for an estimate before bidding. Customers who supply their own courier account number will still be charged a handling fee. Please allow 2-3 weeks for shipments after receipt of payment due to the high volume of packages being shipped.
