A framed 19th-century manuscript family register featuring a lithographed template with four arched vignettes. The vignettes, which appear to be hand-colored or tinted, depict a family outdoors, a seated woman in an interior, a marriage ceremony, and a mourning scene featuring a monument inscribed I know that My Redeemer Liveth. The register is organized into columns titled Family NAMES, Born, WHEN AND WHERE, Married, WHEN, WHERE & BY WHOM, and Died, WHEN & WHERE. The primary entries record the lineage of Richard D. Weatherby, born April 3, 1822, in St. Stephens, and Catherine Smith, born July 23, 1826, in St. Stephens, who were married on July 2, 1846, by an individual named Tybits. The register lists twelve children: Sarah Jane, Lydia Catherine, Emily Jane, Charlotte Ann Thomson, Skifington Thomson, Charles Wellington Grimmer, Mary Hannah Campbell, Margaret Emma, Sarah Adeline, Alice Alida, John Thomas Smith, and Florence Elizabeth. Birth dates range from 1847 to 1865, with locations including St. Stephens and St. James, suggesting an origin in New Brunswick, Canada. Notable entries include deaths recorded at Victoria Hospital in 1898. Handwritten entries are recorded in multiple ink colors and various hands, documenting the family history into the mid-20th century, with the final death date noted as June 26, 1948. The document is housed in a wide, beveled mahogany-finished wooden frame under glass.
