  • Provenance: Born in Geneva, Swiss jewelry and watch designer Gilbert Albert (1930 – 2019) is considered a pioneer of the industry, designing for Patek Philippe, Omega, and, from 1962 onwards, his own atelier. Trained at L’Ecole des Arts Industriels, Albert’s talent attracted Patek Philippe, and he began designing for the legendary brand at just 25. Under the guidance of Henri Stern, Albert revolutionized watch making, introducing asymmetrical cases and unique finishings to the brand. Iconic designs include the ‘Golf,’ the ‘Ricochet,’ the ‘Rhomboid,’ and the ‘Triangle.’ Albert’s time designing for Omega pushed the boundaries of watch design even further, where he created conceptual, sculptural bracelet watches inspired by organic forms and futuristic ideas. In 1962, he refined his focus on jewelry and opened his own atelier, eventually establishing several boutiques across the world. Today, his designs are displayed in prestigious museums, including the Victoria and Albert Museum and Geneva's Musée d’Art et d’Histoire, and are highly coveted timepieces.
  • Condition: Bracelet size: Approx. 6 1/4 inches
Overall Condition: Light scratching throughout consistent with age and use. Some dust trapped beneath crystal. Safety latch is slightly stiff. Crown is stiff, the watch sets but cannot be wound and is not running at the time of cataloguing. May require service.

Please note that Freeman’s does not warranty the watch at the time of the auction or after its purchase. Potential buyers should be advised that though the watch may be running at the time of cataloging, it may stop running before the auction and servicing is recommended for all timepieces.
