A Continental School capriccio scene with classical ruins and figures in a moonlit landscape. Oil on panel. Collection and estate labels "Property of Mary T.B. Cushing" and "Belongs to Annie H. Backman Estate" on verso.Sight: 6 1/2" x 8 1/2". Frame: 11 1/2" x 13 1/2". Provenance: From the Estates of Raymond Bahor & Michael Mahoney. Mahoney was a professor and Chair of the Fine Arts department at Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut, until he retired in 1991.Prior to that he was a curator and editor at the National Gallery of Art, Washington, DC.
