J. BUCK ATTRIBUTED, WOODSTOCK, SHENANDOAH VALLEY OF VIRGINIA INKWELL, lead-glazed with iron flecks, cylindrical form with rounded top, slightly waisted side, and central hole to top. Circa 1840. 1 1/4" HOA, 3 1/4" DOA.
Catalogue Note: This piece was originally purchased together with a marked "J. BUCK" jar and an attributed cream/milk pitcher, lots 1015 and 1017 respectively, in this auction. The inkwell has an identical clay body with iron-speckled lead glaze as lot 1004, a stamped "J. BUCK" cream jug/pitcher sold on 11/13/2020 at Jeffrey S. Evans and Associates.

    Mostly undamaged, having a minor flake to foot edge.
