A creamware double sweetmeat basket attributed to Wedgwood, circa 1790. The vessel is composed of two circular, slightly flared bowls joined at the center and surmounted by a high, entwined double-twist handle. The exterior of each bowl is decorated with a molded relief barley-corn or beaded pattern. The piece is finished in a characteristic cream-colored lead glaze. The underside of one bowl retains a handwritten white paper label identifying the piece as a Wedgwood creamware basket dating to approximately 1790, along with a circular printed label for the Rubin Collection. Wedgwood impressed factory marks are visible on the base.
