RUSSIAN ORTHODOX ICON OF A NEW TESTAMENT TRINITY OR "PATERNITY" VARIATION

Russian Orthodox icon that depicts a complex theological composition, likely a variation of the New Testament Trinity or "Paternity," executed in egg tempera on a wooden panel. The central scene features two figures—traditionally God the Father (Sabaoth) and God the Son—seated on ornate thrones flanking a symbolic representation of the Holy Spirit in the form of a dove within a celestial mandorla. The figures are set against a stylized landscape of towering, tiered trees and architectural elements. Surrounding the central image is a heavily embossed silvered basma (metal okiad). The border includes a Cyrillic inscription along the upper edge and small inset medallions at the corners, possibly representing the Four Evangelists.
