Of circular form, the tray with an applied border cast in openwork foliage and interlaced scrolls, accented by delicate beading, and supported on four finely scrolled open feet. 55.7 troy ozs.

cf. A superb example of mid-18th-century English craftsmanship. This elegant George III tray by noted silversmith Richard Rugg embodies the refinement and restraint of the early neoclassical period. The pierced foliate border and balanced proportions speak to Rugg’s mastery of design during a moment when English silver reached new artistic heights. Its sculptural feet and graceful symmetry would have adorned the grand dining rooms of Georgian London, reflecting both status and timeless taste.
