An exceptional vintage Navajo sterling silver ranger belt concho by renowned Navajo silversmith Thomas Charlie (T.C.), showcasing the refined hand craftsmanship and traditional design vocabulary for which his work is admired. Executed in heavy-gauge sterling silver, the rectangular concho is embellished with two vibrant natural turquoise cabochons set within hand-twisted rope bezels, framed by meticulously applied repoussé leaves, beadwork, scroll motifs, and a finely sculpted central blossom. The carefully hand-stamped border and richly developed patina accentuate the dimensional quality of the silverwork, while the substantial construction reflects the high standards associated with Navajo silversmithing during the latter half of the twentieth century. The reverse bears the artist's "T.C." hallmark, identified with Navajo silversmith Thomas Charlie, whose jewelry is appreciated for its traditional aesthetic and clean, balanced compositions. Designed as part of a ranger-style belt, this concho also displays beautifully as an individual work of Native American art. The vivid blue turquoise, likely sourced from a classic Southwestern mine, provides striking contrast against the oxidized sterling silver, highlighting the timeless appeal of Navajo jewelry traditions. Thomas Charlie's work reflects the enduring legacy of Navajo silversmithing, blending classic repoussé techniques with elegant stone setting and hand fabrication. Pieces bearing his hallmark continue to be sought by collectors of authentic Native American jewelry and Western Americana. A handsome and highly collectible example of handcrafted Navajo sterling silver artistry.
