- The Sceptic's Manual, or Christianity Verified - Dated 1811 by J.F. Watson - Other - see description - The front free endpaper of this text is signed by the American artist Joseph Mason (1808 Ð October 8, 1842). Mason worked closely with print maker and ornithologist John James Audubon and made a significant contribution to Audubon's iconic book, "The Birds of North America."

The book is bound by yellow paper boards with the title typewritten on a blue field on the front cover and spine.

The full title of this volume is "The Sceptic's Manual, or Christianity Verified: Being a New Method of Appeal to the Understandings and Consciences of Deists, Jews, Sceptics, and Formal Professors: For the Truth, Power, and Efficacy of the Christian Religion; Demonstrated in Three Parts: By the Truth of the Holy Scriptures, By the Certainty of the Manifestation of the Spirit, and By the Influence and Power of Religion, as Exemplified in the Conversion of Notorious Sinners, and in the Lives of Distinguished Saints."

The yellow hardcover of this volume appears to have been attached over the original boards. There are some moisture markings and extensive handwritten notes in ink on the front endpapers.The pages show some significant age toning indications though the text is legible. The binding is solid and intact, as are the hinges. The signature shows clearly and legibly despite some toning.

We offer reduced shipping for winners of multiple lots, as follows: buyer pays full shipping amount of the won lot that bears the highest shipping charge, and receives a 30% discount on the stated shipping amount for all other won lots. For example, a winner of three lots with stated shipping charges of $4.50, $6.50 and $8.00 will pay $15.70 rather than the full $19.00. All books and other media ship via USPS Media Mail. Typical delivery time within the continental U.S. is 5-10 days. If your order is time sensitive, please contact us for a Priority Mail upgrade. Insurance is available and recommended (please note that by declining insurance, you assume the risk of loss or damage in transit) on shipped packages at a flat rate of $1.00 per $100.00 of coverage for domestic shipments and $2.00 per $100.00 of coverage for all international shipments (please let us know if you are adding insurance to your total).
