SN 1015. Cal. 9mmp. Standard configuration Walther Model 6, single action blowback pistol, with 4.75" bbl, fixed front sight and drift adjustable rear sight. The left side of matching slide is marked with a single line legend "Selbstlade-Pistol Cal 9 m/m. Walther's-Patent" over Walther banner. Further back is "GERMANY", in small letters, as applied to pistols made for export. Right side of slide marked "Carl Walther, Waffenfabrik, Zella St. Bl.". C/N proofing over the exposed chamber and immediately below on the slide and frame. SN "1015" on the right upper trigger guard. Hard rubber grip panels each with an encircled C/W at the upper portion. Elsewhere checkered with a generous border and secured with a single screw. Unmarked, re-blued replacement magazine with eight indicator holes. Orig rust blue finish that has been applied to all major and most minor parts except the fire-blued extractor and the grip screws. The most desirable and largest of the numbered Walthers whose production was limited to about 1,000 pistols, this example being one of the last Model 6s completed by Walther. PROVENANCE: The Esteemed Collection Of Noted Expert And Author Warren Buxton. CONDITION: Approximately 70-80% orig rust blue with fine scratches and uniform wear as one might expect from moderately hard use. There is more wear on the bbl bushing, now partially polished and with a number of small mars, retaining about 30% orig blue. Grip panels are faded with diamond blunting but no significant chips or losses. Replacement magazine retains most of its re-blue. Bright bore with strong rifling. Perfect manual mechanics. The perfect Walther for a collector who wants a Model 6 but doesn't want to mortgage his house. 51568-49 LMA C&R
