Early 19th century silver covered sugar by Joseph Richardson Jr., Philadelphia. Gold wash exterior with engraved crest of cubit arm erect holding thistle branch to bowl side. JR stamp to foot underside along with some lightly scratched numbers. Good condition; old weld repair to vertical inside rib with light "roughness' to outside rib (left of armorial), small ding to one shoulder rib point (rear side), expected wear to gold wash, etc. 401 total grams approx. 9 1/4" H.
