Exceptional Cased Master Engraver John Warren Signed and Gold Inlaid Smith & Wesson Model 41 Three Barrel Set with Accessories The masterfully embellished Model 41 features near full coverage, tight floral scroll engraving with contrasting gold wire inlaid whirls and borders. All of the standard maker and model markings have been gold inlaid as well. The pistol features multiple animal scenes rendered in semi-relief gold, silver, and copper inlay with a boar's head on the underside of the frame, a fox grasping a pheasant on the left side of the slide, a crow on the right side of the slide, and a chipmunk on the back of the slide. The butt is inscribed "JOHN WARREN/ENGRAVER" around the magazine well. Fitted with delicately carved two-piece grips with fine line checkered panels, and a lightly engraved gold lip. The inside of the left grip panel is signed "JW 1972" The set includes two extra barrels with matching engraving and gold wire inlay. Each barrel is numbered "1", "2", and "3" respectively on the bottom just to the rear of the muzzle. Barrels 2 and 3 are 5 inches and 7 inches in length respectively with fixed blade front and adjustable rear notch sights. The fitted hardwood display case features brass corner bolsters, hinges, carry handles, and a plaque inscribed "MSS" in fancy engravers script. The inside of the lid has a brass plaque reading "ENGRAVED ESPECIALLY FOR/Morton S. Swimmer/JOHN WARREN 1971". Also included with the case is a set of three barrel weights engraved and gold inlaid to match the pistol and extra barrels, turnscrew, hex headed wrench, cleaning rod, bore swab, patch jag, bore brush, brass oil bottle, and a brass patch container. Magazine absent. The grips are near mint with sharp carving, crisp checkering, and some visible darkening due to handling. The extra barrels and weights are also very fine with sharp engraving and small handling marks. The case is very fine with some small scratches and blemishes on the exterior of the case, and light damage to the interior lining from the muzzle. The tools and containers are all very fine with traces of light discoloration on the tool handles.
