JFK & Marilyn Monroe "Happy Birthday Mr. President" Sought-After Program for Kennedy's 1962 Birthday Celebration
Pamphlet/Booklet

Rare and sought-after program for New York City's "Happy Birthday Mr. President" celebration for John F. Kennedy on May 19, 1962, where Marilyn Monroe famously breathlessly serenaded the president with "Happy Birthday", leading the crowd in the song as waiters brought out an enormous multi-tier birthday cake on stretchers rested on their shoulders. The President then quipped that he can retire after having been sung to by the "sweet" Ms. Monroe for his birthday. The program features a red, white and blue color block design on the cover with the title in italics "Happy Birthday Mr. President" beside a black and white image of Kennedy's face. Inside, it lists the individuals and committees that organized the event (the Democratic National and State Committees and Citizens for Kennedy) and the order of events, which is incredibly star-studded. The back cover lists the individuals in the chorus and "Credits". Printed by The Georgian Lithographers, Inc., 8.25" x 10.5" bifold, New York, NY, ca. May 1962. Cover has a loss to the lower right corner, with a small tear extending, some handling wear and random creasing throughout, otherwise a good example of a sought-after program!

This item comes with a Certificate from John Reznikoff, a premier authenticator for both major 3rd party authentication services, PSA and JSA, as well as numerous auction houses.
