James B. Meek Signed and Master Game Scene Engraved Ruger No. 1B Single Shot Rifle with Scope Manufactured in 1977 and subsequently embellished by legendary American Master Engraver James B. Meek. The rifle has a factory blued steel 1-B heavy barrel showing factory markings including the "MADE IN THE 200th YEAR OF AMERICAN LIBERTY" marking, beautifully executed scroll engraving at the breech and ahead of the front scope base with a gap for another scope base and two drilled and tapped holes with filler screws. The hand made scope bases are fitted with factory Ruger rings holding a Bushnell Scope Chief VI 4x32 mm scope. The game scenes depict a fox poking its head out of its den on the left side and a bird of prey perched on a tree branch on the right, both in lovely high detail. The engraving is signed "JAMES B. MEEK Engr." on the underside. The rifle is fitted with a highly figured and wrap-around multi-point checkered beavertail forend with front sling stud and engraved screw escutcheon as well as a pistol grip stock with engraved brushed bright grip cap, shadowline cheekpiece, rear sling stud, and a checkered blued Niedner buttplate.
