Divine being or gentleman from Old Calcutta following the path of Krisgna. Kalighat paintings were made by artists around the Temple in Kalighat and were sold to visitors as souvenirs. This is a very distinct style of art and evolved during the late 19th century during the British Raj and continued until the mid-20th century. These artists used minimum lines to achieve maximum effect. Distinquishing characteristics are the typical big eyes and lines. Image 18 ½ inches x 13 inches. Unframed
